This will be quick and easy, but it’s just revolutionary if you’ve never done it before.
Don’t fry your bacon, put it on a griddle, or for the sake of pork, put it in the microwave. Bake it! You’ll have perfect, flat, delicious bacon. Grease doesn’t go flying everywhere and the bacon fat (gold) drips onto foil so the bacon doesn’t cook directly in it and you can save it for cooking later! Also makes for easy clean up.
I like to bake up any bacon I’m not using from a package and just store it in the fridge for a quick cold snack, to top salads with, or to reheat on the cast iron gently with my morning eggs.
Ingredients: Good bacon.
Instructions: Preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Put a piece of foil down on a baking sheet with sides. Put a metal cooling rack on top of the foil on the baking sheet. Lay the bacon on the cooling rack, leaving about 1/4″ between slices. Bake for 15-25 minutes, depending on how thick your bacon is cut. Remove from the oven and cool on paper towels.
*Extra credit for drizzling a tiny bit of maple syrup and dusting crushed red pepper flakes over the bacon when it’s done and still hot!
